The name is Truchard, Anthony Truchard, and Wednesday, August 27, 2008, World Café Live welcomes as guest of honor this well-known California winemaker, owner of the Truchard Winery, and member of one of the pioneering families of the Carneros region of Napa Valley since 1989. The Truchard Wine Dinner gets underway at 7:00 pm and runs until 10:00 pm.
The Truchard Winery produces wines using only their estate grown fruit. This event is not to be missed if you have an appreciation (or want to develop one) for fine dining and drink combination. Your fee of $65 per person includes wines, dinner, tax, and gratuity. What do you get for your money? A whole heck of a lot. Let’s begin with the excellent choice of 7 tasting wines, then toss in the 6 course menu prepared by the World Café Live Executive Chef Mathew Babbage.
Your wine selection will include Pinot noir, Roussanne, Chardonnay, Cabernet, Zinfandel, Syrah, and Late Harvest Rousanne.
In case you’re taste buds haven’t begun quivering yet, here’s a list of what you’ll be dining upon. Chef Babbage knows how to end the summer season with a flourish!
First Course: Country Pate with whole grain mustard, cornichon and baguette.
Second Course: Vichyssoise, chilled potato and leek soup garnished with Parmesan croutons and snipped chives.
Third Course: California Style Tossed Salad, mixed summer greens with avocado, pink grapefruit and toasted pine nuts, pink grapefruit and extra virgin olive oil vinaigrette.
Fourth Course: Char grilled marinated skirt steak with hand cut WCL Idaho fries and Truchard Cabernet Demi Glace.
Fifth Course: Humboldt Fog Goat Cheese with Mission Figs.
Dessert: Creme Brulee.
