This cozy brew house opened in the late 1980s as an offshoot of the Sansom Street Oyster House downstairs. Six beers are regularly brewed here: three light to dark and three seasonal ales. Don’t forget to try the Monkey Knife Fight just to say you did.

Gritty, unpolished, not as concerned with aesthetics as much as serving up some of the more unique and challenging beers to be found in Philadelphia. And don’t forget to tell all your friends, “I survived the Monkey Knife Fight.”
