Don’t wanna be a tub of goo no more: Sports And Wellness Expo

The upcoming Sports and Wellness Expo has so much going on they couldn’t pack it into one day. This embarrassment of riches in the fitness and nutrition industry had to be stretched out into a second day just to make it all fit. So get ready to stub out your cigarette and do some arm curls this February 14 & 15, 2009, from 10 AM to 5 PM both days at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center.

5,000 free parking spaces can’t be wrong!

Admission is only $10 for adults. Kids and seniors get in free. In the event you are suffering from a Benjamin Button-like chronology crisis, and don’t know whether to declare yourself to be an adult or a senior, don’t worry! They’ll figure it out when you get there.

What’s the big news this year at the Expo? Meet and greet well-known physicians, celebrities, and star athletes from the area. Exhibitors will be on hand to display the latest and greatest in health and fitness goods and services, as well as free medical screenings.

A sampling of the entertainment includes healthy cooking, fitness and nutrition demonstrations. There will be athletic contests like weight-lifting, arm wrestling, martial arts, and strong men (they don’t need no stinkin’ underarm deodorant).

Speaking of arm wrestling, I hate to be the one to bring this to your attention, but remember that horrible excuse of a movie with Sylvester Stallone called Over The Top? Long haul trucker bonds with his son on the road while arm wrestling on the side. If this was on your list of movies to see, cross it off right now. Unless, of course, you find yourself strangely attracted to the sort of Stallone movie that calls for actual acting. Kind of like why people stop to look at car wrecks.

The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center is located at 1207 Egypt Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460. Change your life for the better in just one – err- two days. You can read all the fine print about the Expo at their website here.
