Puppets are people too! Sort of: Peoplehood Parade

The giant puppies are coming to Philadelphia! The giant puppies are coming! Run for your lives. What’s that you say? Puppets? Giant puppets? Well then, that’s a different matter entirely. I’m not quite as afraid of giant puppets as I am giant puppies. Can you even begin to imagine dog breath on that scale?

Sprial Q Puppet Theater needs YOU to help get ready for the big day – the Peoplehood Parade and Pageant. Got a creative mind bouncing around inside that noggin of yours? Good grief, let it out at one of the Peoplehood Community Builds around town. They’re free and open to the public. Drop in at Spiral Q Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at 6 PM ready to build puppets, masks, flags, and banners for the parade. All ages welcome but children need to be accompanied by an adult in order to keep the chaos to a manageable level.

Are you still suffering from confusion? Peoplehood: An All City Parade & Pageant, is an annual event that brings together, through workshops in communities, more than 3,000 people to celebrate community, diversity, and the challenges and triumphs of life in Philadelphia and its neighborhoods. And don’t forget about the puppets. There are lots and lots of puppets that they still need help building.

Drop by the Spiral Q website for additional dates and times to participate in Community Builds. You know you want to. The Q is located at 3114 Spring Garden Street, 2nd Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19104. Or feel free to call them at 215-222-6979 and demand they reveal the answer to the ultimate question.
