I don’t know about you, but I don’t mind drinking my beer from a two ounce mug, especially when I’m hanging out at the Newton Brewfest on Saturday, October 18, 2008, from 12 PM to 5:30 PM, in the parking lot of the Newton Stocking Works Complex.
Fear not if you’re in Philadelphia and have never heard of a burg called Newton. It’s not that far away, being located in Bucks County approximately 20 miles northeast of Philly and 10 miles west of Trenton, NJ.
Like many good brewfests, this one is for a good cause. It benefits the Newton Corporation, which is not an evil conglomerate bent on worldwide domination. Nope. This non-profit organization mission is to preserve and enrich the small town character and historic atmosphere of Newton Borough and Newton Township. That’s a good thing, right? While you’re there for the Brewfest, why not take some time to walk the streets of the small town that never went away. It’s a breath of fresh air. Promise.
The Newton Brewfest wants you to bring yourself and all your beer aficionado buddies out to celebrate with live music, unique area beers, and great conversation, mostly about…er …beer, I guess. And maybe the Phillies.
This event is outdoors, so dress accordingly and drink lots of water – just like mom told you. Find out more information about Newton Brewfest here. The festival location is at 301 South State Street, Newton, PA.
