It’s taken a while, but the Festival Pier is a pretty good spot to see a concert these days. Redevelopment of the decrepit concrete waterfront began in the late 1960’s. Now it’s a great plaza that hosts regular events, especially the concert series, in the spring, summer, and fall.
Nearby are the Olympic size Blue Cross Water Rink, the gorgeous Delaware River and views of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. The Festival Pier sells food and rink on site but there are plenty of other restaurants and attractions nearby as well.
