It only happens once a year, Philadelphia, and each time around is an absolutely unique experience. This time, The Art Institute of Philadelphia is calling its annual fashion show “Future Faces of Fashion.” The gala event will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2008, in the Grand Ballroom at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at 7:00 pm.
Whether you have an eye for fashion or a pocketbook for charity, everyone is welcome to attend. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Morris Animal Refuge at 1242 Lombard Street, Philadelphia, PA. Morris has made it their mission in life to care for abused, abandoned, and homeless animals. Kind of gets you right there in the heart, doesn’t it? Who among us can be against kitties and puppies and the occasional orphaned Komodo dragon?
But these fashions ain’t kiddies with fabric crayons and a three-pack of white t-shirts from K-Mart either. The fashions on display at “Future Faces of Fashion” come from gifted associate and bachelor level students who have graduated from The Art Institute of Philadelphia. These are inspired final collections featuring over 200 garments. The Fashion Marketing department at the school produces the show. For more information, check out MySpace here. The Crowne Plaza Hotel is located at 1800 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased from The Art Institute here. Hey! You never know who might end up on the next Project Runway.
