Those in favor of breathing, raise your hand: Free to Breathe Happy Hour

Philadelphia likes to breathe and breathing is pretty important, right? If we didn’t do it regularly we’d all be sort of, well, dead. Cavanaugh’s River Deck is a firm supporter of continued respiration for as many living things as possible and they’re going all out with a 5K Kick-Off Beef & Beer event to raise money for the National Lung Cancer Partnership’s research, education, and awareness programs.

It’s not going on RIGHT now, so don’t leave the computer at a dead run and sprint all the way there. You’re going to have to wait until Thursday, August 7, 2008, from 6 – 8 pm. And this ain’t no regular Happy Hour. This one is bursting at the seams with these sorts of things.

- 1 hour of $3 ‘you call it’ drink specials
- 2 hours of open bar with draft beer, house wine, and soda
- 2 hours of buffet with baked ziti, meatballs, roast beef, and sides
- Raffle prizes

All this and more will cost you $25 in advance and $30 at the door. It’s a steal, I tell you, a freakin’ steal. Oh yeah, it’s a good cause too. You can find more information about the Free to Breathe event here.

Cavanaugh’s River Deck is way up there on the list of Philadelphia restaurants that are way cool, and loves its location on the Delaware River in the shadow of the Ben Franklin Bridge. It’s located at 417 Columbus Blvd., Philadelphia, PA.
