Join EgoPo and eight other Philadelphia theater companies as they explore the evolution of expressionism throughout the last century. Companies include The Lantern Theater, Flashpoint Theater, Azuka Theatre and Walter Bilderback of The Wilma Theater. The Jacob Burns Reading Series takes place one Monday each month throughout the 2008-2009 season.</p>
<p>Kicking off the reading series, the symposium Expressionism in Contemporary Theater is moderated by Bilderback and features a panel of leading artists and academics. The exhibit features a total of over 130 objects, including original artwork, rare sketches, never-before-seen working materials, and interview footage. A family-friendly gallery guide, available to help parents guide children through the exhibition, offers fun facts and stories, questions designed to stimulate conversation, and help navigating some of the more complex themes that Sendak&#8217;s work brings out.<br />

When it was placed on exhibit at The Academy of Natural Sciences in 1868, it was the first mounted dinosaur skeleton displayed anywhere in the world. To mark the 150th anniversary of its scientific description, the museum remounts a cast of the 25-foot-long plant-eater as the centerpiece of an exhibit called Hadrosaurus foulkii: The Dinosaur that Changed the World. This exhibition is the first time the full skeleton cast has been displayed in Philadelphia since the 1930s.<br />
