Bring your stomach, eyes, and money: Design For A Cause

The renowned Marketplace Design Center is not normally open to the public – until now. Design for a Cause is a two day event that tosses 100 extraordinary Philadelphia area designers, florists, and chefs into a blender to see what comes out. And you get to watch!

Make your way to the main floor showroom November 13 & 14, 2008, to find leading interior and floral designers lending their creative talents to build extravagant holiday-themed vignettes (which is not a French pastry). But I bet you will run into a pastry or two since refreshments and other culinary treats will be provided by the area’s best caterers and chefs. When the transformation is complete, Marketplace Design Center will be full of delicate and unique environments showcasing the latest trends in home design and décor. Don’t forget to attend the Design for a Cause cocktail party at Thursday’s opening night festivities. Be there at 7 PM. The party goes until 10 PM. The cost is $75, which includes your drinks and refreshments.

Friday from 10 AM until 5 PM Design for a Cause will be underway in full force. Donations will be accepted at the door, with a minimum of $20 to get in.

And what about the cause? It’s a good one. Proceeds raised go to benefit the Foundation for Breast and Prostate Health. Read more about this fine organization and the work they do at their website here. The Marketplace Design Center is located at 2400 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
