Good grief. It’s almost the Fourth of July weekend. Did that sneak up on you fast too? Do you have plans yet? Besides, of course, traumatizing the dog and blowing a few fingers off with your homemade firework display.
Here’s a piece of advice from a guy that used to light dynamite blasting caps for fun – use the punk they give you to light your fireworks. Other sources of flame like campfires, matches, cigarettes, welding torches – too dicey, in my opinion.
Who among us doesn’t like a good - make that great – no, make that mouth-watering shriek of happiness – barbeque? I’m going to tell you where to go to find it so you won’t have to strain your brain too much. It’s the Fourth of July Brandywine BBQ Weekend at the Chaddsford Winery. Chaddsford joins with fellow members of the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail to host great wine and BBQ tastings this July 4, 5, and 6.
For your stuffing yourself sick pleasure: there’ll be pig pickins and chicken lickins, chili cookoffs and roadkill roasts going on all weekend long, plus concerts on Friday and Saturday nights.
Let’s say you’ve been living a cave-like, Neanderthal existence the past few decades and either forgot about the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail or never heard of it at all. Well, put down that stick and rock, hold off with the cave etchings for a while ‘cause you’re going to want to know about this so it won’t be obvious you don’t get out much.
Helpful caveman tip: don’t grunt so much and shake your plate in a menacing manner when asking for more food at winery-hosted BBQ.
The Brandywine Valley Wine Trail is located in the heart of one of America’s most historic regions, in the rolling hills of southern Chester County. It’s an association of family operated vineyards and wineries, diverse in size and focus, but united in the focus on creating unique wines reflecting the distinctive qualities of the area.
Beat the shore crowds and spend a rousing Fourth of July weekend with Chaddsford Winery. Haven’t you always wanted to know more about Nick’s Chicks?
